Rauris Activities

Skiing/cross-country skiing

  • With the Hochalmbahn it goes up to 2175m. A beautiful 32.5 km long network of slopes awaits you.
  • Skis can be rented at Intersport or Sporthaus Egger.
  • Cross-country skiing / Leupe starts directly at the Chalet village entrance.

Hikes

  • Enjoy the beautiful landscape of Seidwinkel valley.
  • Hike up with the Hochalmbahn and down to the middle station.
  • A must: Kolm-Saigurn at the end of the Valley.

Cycling

  • Mountain bike/eBike can be rented at Intersport shop next to the Billa. Also a service on own bikes can be made here.
  • Sporthaus Egger, you can also rent eBikes here. Andi personally gives route recommendations.
  • Both also have skis to borrow.

Thermal baths/outdoor swimming pool

  • Tauern Therme in Kaprun. The largest and most beautiful in the area. Please reserve online in good time (2-3 days depending on the season).
  • Therme in Gasteig, please use the parking lot of the spa outside there are hardly any parking spaces.
  • Both thermal baths are about 30 minutes away.
  • In summer, be sure to visit the outdoor pool in Rauris with beautiful view into the valley. Don't forget your parasol!

Restaurants

  • Wischtl Hittn, close to it and simply delicious best to sit outside, if the weather cooperates.
  • Weixen, our favorite resident. Great food with beautiful views, children's playground and 2 fish ponds that invite you to a final short walk. Favorite food: Warmly served smoked trout with fried potatoes. Dessert, homemade ice cream or Kaiserschmarrn.
  • Italian: Best pizza in town at Stadl Cafe.
  • Gusto: Traditional cuisine with international influence and regional products.
  • Baumbar in Kaprun, ideal after the thermal baths in Kaprun.

Bakery / Rolls / Shopping

  • Spar: Largest selection, around 8:30 in the morning.
  • Billa: Also on Sundays there are fresh rolls here during the season.
  • Change machine at the town hall: Local specialties, from pumpkin soup to cold cuts and delicious desserts are always available from the refrigerated vending machine at the town hall.

Fishing

  • Fish ponds behind the Weixen Restaurant. The fish caught can be prepared in the Restaurant Weixen.
